Richard W. Barndt of Lansdale; Rev. Dr. Thomas Kadel of Harleysville ; Margaret E. Koehler of Frederick.

Richard W. Barndt, formerly of Northeast Philadelphia and current resident of Lansdale, PA, passed away in his home on Saturday, July 28th, after battling cancer. He was 67 years old.

Richard was born in Philadelphia to loving parents Dorothea (Smith) and W. Richard Barndt.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lynn (Pyffer) Barndt. He was a loving and dedicated father to his children Deborah (Barndt) Player, Teena (Barndt) Dahms, Harrison Barndt, and Christine Barndt. Richard also had four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews for whom he cared deeply. He is also survived by his brothers Robert Barndt and Scott Barndt, along with his sister Gail (Barndt) Madge. His sister Dianne Paul passed away in 1998.

Richard’s career was long and fulfilling. After attending school at Crossan Elementary, Wilson Junior High School, and Cheltenham High School, Richard started working as a mechanic and electrician in the Philadelphia area. He became employed at Unique Machine Company in 1984, which was founded by George Schmid and Richard’s father. Richard then ascended to the position of partner the following year. Richard devoted much of his time and energy to the company, taking pride in his work and helping to guide it through decades of continued success.

In life, Richard gave his full attention, love, and caring to his family and work. He found genuine joy in helping others, and he leapt at every chance to use his various skills to improve the lives of those around him. When not tinkering with machinery in his basement, Richard also enjoyed spending time with his numerous and wonderful friends, relaxing with his

dog, Rosie, and seeing the world with his wife. He was a truly wonderful man and he will be sorely missed.
