Sunshine Games bring brightness and fun

-

Variety Club campers compete in annual Worcester event honoring beloved counselor.

Variety Camp was filled with smiles and laughter on Friday, August 3. The camp honored Annie Madden, a counselor who tragically passed away, by hosting their annual Sunshine Games named after her. Campers participated in 19 carnivalthemed activities ranging from running the bases in water baseball to climbing through an inflatable obstacle course. Campers look forward to this day each year because they are able to compete for awards and prizes. The campers form bonds during the Sunshine Games, especially when they have their chance to throw pies in each other’s faces or to dunk a camp counselor in the dunk tank. Luckily, the rain held off long enough for the campers to take part in most of the activities. Volunteers from RSM and Aetna assisted with the set-up and operation of the activities.
