BISHOP KENRICK HS REUNION

Sat. Oct. 20: The Bishop Kenrick High School Class of 1973 is holding an informal 45th “Meet and Greet Old Friends” get together on Saturday, October 20 at Steppy’s Sports Bar & Grille, 2912 Swede Road, Norristown, Pa. Cost is $10.00 per person upon entrance. Light fare, cash bar and casual attire. No uniforms necessary!

A NIGHT WITH FRANK SINATRA STARRING TONY LEODORA

Saturday, Nov. 10: At the Norristown Maenner-Chor Club, 920 Haws Ave, Norristown. Tickets are $10 which includes dinner and the show. Dinner will be served at 6:00 with the show starting at 6:30 to 10 0 pm. The Norristown Maenner-Chor Club will be transforme­d into a night club for dinner and a show with the Sounds of Sinatra. Tony Leodora and sensationa­l jazz saxophonis­t Frankie Ewing will present your favorites from the Great American Songbook throughout the evening. In addition to a heavy dose of Sinatra, there will be the best of Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole and more. An Italian dinner will accompany the musical show. APPLE FESTIVAL

Saturday, Oct. 13: St. James Lutheran Church (Swamp Pike & 93 Kugler Rd., Limerick) invites all to come have a fun-filled day at its 3rd annual Apple Festival. Doors will open at 9 a.m. with activities ending at 2 p.m. The activities include: Flea Market offering a menagerie of gentlyused items; Silent Auction, which features an array of products and services donated by local businesses and church members. Other highlighte­d treats include: children’s games & story time, moon bounce, tractor rides, pie throwing, baked goods, apple and fall treats including fresh picked apples, specialty coffee and cider, mums, and variety of crafts. Come for lunch, featuring home-made chili and sloppy joes. Proceeds will benefit St. James’ mission trip fund and Julia’s Grace Foundation, a local organizati­on that reaches out to children and their families as they cope with cancer. The festival will also feature special appearance­s from the Limerick Fire Department and Limerick Police Canine Unit. Crafters welcome - $10 per table. AUDUBON BIRD TOWN BIRD WALK ON THE PENNYPACK TRAIL

Tuesday, Oct. 16: This morning bird walk led by members of the Wyncote Audubon Society will start at the parking lot access to the Pennypack Trail located at Terwood and Welsh Roads. Bring binoculars if you have them. Expect to see fall migrating birds on their southward journey as well as some early arriving winter species. This program is appropriat­e for adults and children ages 12 and up. Pre-registrati­on is suggested. There will be a DJ and silent auction items Saturday, Oct. 20: The annual Davis Family Soul Food Day at St. Patrick Church Hall (DeKalb and Chestnut streets, Norristown) from noon until 7 p.m.; price is $14. The menu features fried chicken or baked chicken; fried fish or BBQ ribs; mac and cheese or potato salad; collard greens or string beans; sweet potatoes; variety of homemade cakes and pies.
