Mike Dowse, 67, of Hilltown Twp., passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the Jefferson Hospice at Warminster.

He and his wife Barbara (Nogradi) Dowse were together for 20 years.

Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Alfred C. and Mary N. (McNamara) Dowse.

A 1969 graduate of Scranton Central High School, he was a member of the Honor Society. He went on to attend Lehigh University, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineerin­g in 1973. He was initiated into and became a Brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon in 1969.

He was employed by Neptune Chemical Pump Company of Lansdale in 1973 as a sales engineer, and was then promoted to sales manager in 1978. He later advanced to Vice President of the company, and then to President, before retiring in 2011.

Mr. Dowse was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale. He volunteere­d for the Hilltown Township Firefighte­rs Relief Associatio­n as Treasurer, establishi­ng the First Annual “Wines on the Hill” Festival.

A man of humor, he was Scranton Central’s answer to Alan Funt. In his free time, he loved fishing, gardening, cooking, going to casinos, giving advice to everyone, lending a helping hand, and entertaini­ng family and friends with his wide variety of jokes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennie DiGiacomo and her husband Cory of Quakertown, a son, Michael Smith and his wife Amy of Perkasie, three grandchild­ren: Tyler, Brianna, Cannon, a brother, Kevin Dowse and his wife Mary Ellen of Pittston, a niece and nephew, Kevin and Heather, and many cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main St., Telford, PA 18969. Family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service. Interment is private at the convenienc­e of the family.
