In support of Liz Hanbidge

-

I am writing in support of Liz Hanbidge, a candidate for State Representative in the PA 61st legislative district.

Ms. Hanbidge truly represents my values and those positions I feel our state government needs to move towards in the coming years. She values the education and care of all children, and advocates for a more fair and equitable method for funding public education across the commonwealth.

Her positions on appropriate and well-reasoned gun ownership and access limitations begin to address the ever-growing threats the current national and state policies fail to address against our school children and everyone in public spaces. She embraces the notion that all people deserve access to good, affordable and comprehensive healthcare and health insurance, regardless of their income and preexisting conditions.

She believes that every woman should have the right to make her own reproductive choices and that the State and Federal government should not restrict, limit, nor coerce those choices which negatively impact her life or health.

She believes that every person deserves a fair and equitable wage for their work regardless of gender, race or place of origin, and that everyone deserves equal pay for equal work. In these and many other positions, Ms. Hanbidge stands in sharp contrast to her opponent who has, in my opinion, not represented my values and continues to support a state legislature agenda that ignores the concerns of the residents of her district in favor of partisan positions which are threatening our national democracy.

With the increasing uncertainty at the federal level, it is ever more important that each of us assure that our governments at the state and local levels reflect the values each of us hold dear, as those bodies may well be called upon to embody those values in legislation and regulation.
