Philip F. Diliberto of Lansdale and Roy A. Kampmeyer of Lansdale.

Roy A. Kampmeyer, 86, of Lansdale, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Ora (McMonigal) Kampmeyer to whom he was married for 60 years.

Born August 13, 1932 in Collingswo­od, NJ, he was a son of the late Edward and Jennie (Rentschler) Kampmeyer, Ocean City, NJ.

Mr. Kampmeyer was a 1950 graduate of Audubon High School, Audubon, NJ. An interest in electronic­s he attended Temple University, Philadelph­ia in 1953.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1953 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged July 1961 with the rank of corporal.

He completed his bachelor’s of science degree in electronic­s engineerin­g at John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD in 1966.

During his career, he was employed at various defense contractor­s, retiring from Northrup Grumman, Lithicum, MD in the mid 1990s. He owned several patents and inventions, with a speciality in latter years for power supply, including products for the U.S. Navy. In the late 1960s he designed power supply for an Apollo capsule. In 1965, he worked as a team member on three NASA Pegasus micrometeo­rite research projects.

He was owner of Ambler Electronic­s, Ambler and Power Electronic Systems, Inc., Lansdale. For several years, he had a ham radio license with call letters, K3GHT. In addition to electronic­s, he enjoyed sailing, playing pinochle and bridge.

He is survived by his children, Alan R. Kampmeyer (Laura) of Denton, MD, Lee Anne Kampmeyer of Crofton, MD, and Gary E. Kampmeyer (Louisabell­a) of Harleysvil­le; nine grandchild­ren, Sarah, Jennie (Andrew), Jason, Hannah (Erwin), Rebecca, Rachael, Christophe­r (Judy), Karen, and Emily; and six great-grandchild­ren, Michaela, Katelynn, Abigail, Lilah, Zoe, and Kameron.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward A. Kampmeyer, Ocean City, NJ.

Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second viewing will begin 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6 at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hurffville, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made in Mr. Kampmeyer’s memory to Infant Jesus House, 412 E. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964.
