Madeline Marie Cressman

Madeline Marie (Stringer) Cressman, a resident of Dock Woods Community, formerly of Souderton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Wallace Ray Cressman, by parents William and Mabel Ziegler Stringer, a brother, Wayne Stringer, and a sister, Eleanor Mae Harpel.

Born January 16, 1920, she was a graduate of Souderton High School. Although she had various clerical jobs, she was a long-time employee of Harleysville Insurance.

Madeline devoted herself to serving the Lord through singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School for over 50 years and supporting many missionary programs. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Souderton, and later in life, Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek in Telford.

Her hobbies included square dancing, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Gladys Irene Hibbard of Tampa, FL, two daughters, Peggy Dunning (Jim) of Gonzales, LA, and Donna Cressman (George Boyer) of Fort Myers, FL, one granddaughter Kim Babin (Mike), one grandson, Tim Lukens (Mary), four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, all of Gonzales, LA.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 11, at Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, 171 Church Rd., Telford, where the family will receive friends from 1010:30 AM. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Souderton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek at the above address or Benevolent Care Fund, Dock Woods Community, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale, PA 19446.
