DOCK 27, PLUMSTEAD CHRISTIAN 22 >> Despite starting the season short-handed, the Lady Pioneers of Dock Mennonite Academy prevailed in a 27-22 win over its visitors.

It was a close, competitiv­e battle from start to finish, in which the Lady Pioneers did not seal the game until a late 3 by sophomore forward, Jocelyn Pfleiger, to put Dock up 24-20 with 90 seconds to go.

Senior captain, Kate Strickland led the team with 9 points, Brooke Bozarth tallied 7 points and 6 rebounds.

Pfleiger added 6 points, while freshman forward Laurel Latt contribute­d 2 points and 7 steals..

Boys basketball

DOCK AT STATE COLLEGE >> Dock Academy played in the skip Coleman Tipoff Tourney in State College, Pa over the weekend. On Friday Dock defeated host State College HS in overtime, 64-61. Ralph SaintFleur went 4-4 from the tree throw line and Jackson Scialanca hit a 3 in the overtime to help seal the Dock win. Four Dock players in double figures, a real team win.

On Saturday Dock fell to Bishop Walsh ( Baltimore , Md.) in the final, 46- 33. Dock battled Walsh closely thru the first half, but Walsh with an imposing lineup with 5 players 6-7 or taller and Va. Tech commit, outlasted them in the end.

Jackson Scialanca, Nolan Bolton made the All-Tourney team.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 72, WC RUSTIN 47 >> In the Triangle Club Championsh­ip game, Archbishop Wood dominated and rolled to a 72-47 victory over West Chester Rustin. Tournament MVP Rahsool Diggins (Sophomore) led the way for the Vikings dishing out several assists and scoring 20 points. Daeshon Shepherd added 12 and several other Vikings contribute­d to the victory. Ivy Pettit led the Golden Nights in a losing cause with 11 points. Archbishop Wood 72, WC Rustin 47

WISSAHICKO­N 55, EA 53 >> The Trojans got their first win of the season in a hardfought victory over Episcopal Academy 55-53 in the consolatio­n game of the Triangle Club Tip-off Tournament.

Harrison Williams chipped in 15, and Eddie Fortescue had a game high 19 (12 points in the final period).

LOWER MORELAND 65 >> The Panthers capped off a come from behind win as Derrik Cosenza scored in the post as time expired and the Panthers recorded their first win of the season. The Panthers were trailing by seven with 30 seconds left in the game. With some key baskets by Kip Mooney, Jay Stanfield and Derrik Cosenza, the Panthers put themselves in a position to win as they had the ball under their own basket with I.3 seconds remaining. Cosenza received the inbounds pass and promptly scored over three Lower Moreland defenders. Cosenza finished the game with 20 points and 14 rebounds. David West and Josiah Johnson each finished in double figures with 12 and 10 points. Kip Mooney collected 8 rebounds to go along with 8 points. Jay Stanfield and Mike Mulville each dished out six assists. Rounding out the scoring for the Panthers was Mulville and Del Matunda each scoring 5 points, Ryan Savage with 4 points and Jay Stanfield with 2 points. The Panthers head out on the road again as they take on Souderton on Tuesday night.

BOX HILL 63, METHACTON 61 >> The Methacton boys basketball team lost their season opener to Box Hill Secondary School (Australia) by a score of 63-61 on Saturday night. WOOD IN TRI-MATCH >> The Archbishop Wood Wrestling team went 1-2 while competing at the Warwick Duals on Saturday. Wood was led by senior Captain Billy Grace (182) and sophomores Talon Pisarchuk (160) and Connor Eck (132) — all going 3-0. The Vikings opened up with a 57-24 win against Elizabetht­own before dropping an excitingly close match to host Warwick 25-27. In the last second of the 138 match, it appeared that Connor Eck completed a come from behind win for the team by securing a reversal and fall at the buzzer. After the official conferred with the table, the pin was waived off in lue of a 8-5 decision. Wood concluded the day with a hard fought 44-24 loss to West Chester Rustin. After taking an early 17-0 lead, Wood was unable to overcome 3 FFT and an injury default. Strong contributi­ons were turned in by freshman Nolan Cataldi (152), Quinn Collins (195/220) & David McDonough (120) in addition to senior captains Zac St. Thomas (170) and Liam Jones (195/220) who all the Vikings defeated Elizabetht­own 57-24, but lost to Warwick 27-25 and Bayard Rustin 44-24 on Saturday.
