The 58th consecutive season of stock car racing at Grandview Speedway will get under way on Saturday, March 28th with the annual freeto-the-public practice session. Interest is already growing in the Saturday night racing action which will feature the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358

Modifieds and T.P.Track Equipment

NASCAR Sportsman stock cars plus a number of added attractions.

For the ninth season T.P.Trailers and T.P.Truck Equipment will continue as the major sponsor of the Saturday night NASCAR events.

Each Saturday night feature winner in Modifieds and Sportsman will continue to collect cash bonuses from T.P. of Limerick, PA.

The 3rd Annual VP Racing Fuels Bruce Rogers Memorial Money Maker, a 50-lapper, for big and small block racers paying $7500 to win will get the actual racing season started on Saturday, April 4. This event will not carry a NASCAR sanction. The doubleheader show will also include the Sportsman.

Again this year Saturday night racers that use VP racing gasoline will be able to earn great added benefits based on a program announced by track operators, the Rogers family, and VP Racing Fuels.

The top finishing racer in each of the two NASCAR divisions racing at Grandview each Saturday night will be eligible for product awards. For the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds there is a $150 product award for the top finishing racer that can show he has used VP racing gasoline, had VP decals clearly visible on each side of the race car and has a VP patch on his or her uniform. In the T.P.Truck Equipment Sportman division there will be a $100 product award provided they meet the requirements set for the awards.

In addition VP Racing Fuels is posting a $100 VP product award for the overall Hard Charger out of the two divisions each Saturday night.

VP will also be a banner advertiser on the Grandview website (www.grandviewspeedway.com).

VP Racing Fuels Regional Manager Tim Hogue said, “We are excited to be back at Grandview for another season. We appreciate the support given our product by the racers and we want to show the racers support for their efforts.”

Four important rule changes were announced by tech inspector Ed Scott for the 2020 season. Included are: 1. Gas Modified weight 2350lbs Alcohol cars 2400lbs.

2. Unsealed engines in Modifieds and Sportsman during regular season point races must weigh an additional 150lbs.

3. No portion of Sportsman sail panels may extend forward past the back of the drivers headrest.

4. 604 and 602 crate engines must have 6200 RPM chip.

More than three dozen events are on the 2020 schedule released by the Rogers Family, track operators, with a number of special attractions being included.

Fans are also reminded that season passes ARE available that cover a reserved seat for all Saturday night events, April through September. The price is still $350. Send a check covering the passes being ordered along with a selfaddressed stamped envelope (to speed delivery) to Grandview Speedway, 87 Wilt Road, Bechtelsville, PA 19505.

In May of the 2019 season, Douglassville, PA’s Tim Buckwalter was named driver of the Bill Gallagher owned 5g entry for competition on the Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series trail. The King of Prussia, PA based team found immediate success in their first weekend with a strong run at Big Diamond, and a win at the Grandview Speedway.

The combo was able to grab five top-five finishes in seven starts on the tour in 2019, including victories at the Grandview Speedway in May, and the Big Diamond Speedway in June. Along with two third place efforts. An unfortunate violent flip on lap one of the feature at the Georgetown Speedway in July, left the team with no remaining cars to finish out the 2019 season.

The duo along with head mechanic Curt Michael of Allentown, PA, will attack the full Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series in 2020. Curt Michael had the following to say about Tim and the team sticking together: “We’re all happy to continue to race with Tim. We get along well as do all of our crew guys and families. Tim did a great job when we ran and we had some wins and good runs. We had one big crash at Georgetown and we had a fast car that night too, but those kind of things are going to happen when you run hard.”

But the team won’t just run with the USAC East Coast Series. Being that Buckwalter is a former USAC National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year, and with the recent acquisition of a Rider 410 engine, the team will run the Eastern Storm with the USAC National Series in June, along with making the trip out to the Kokomo Speedway in late August for the Kokomo Smackdown. “We’re looking forward to running all of the Rapid Tire, USAC east Coast Series Races, along with the Eastern Storm and a trip to the Kokomo Speedway,” said Curt Michael. “Tim has done Eastern Storm and Kokomo before, but it will be new to our team and myself, hopefully we can have some good runs with our Rider 410.”

The combo will look to have an even better 2020 season on tour with the USAC East Coast Series, along with their other events scheduled with the National Tour, along with Tim’s busy schedule in Micros, Speedstrs and Modifieds.
