Warriors roll over PJP, pick up 20th win

METHACTON 63, PJP II 25 >> The Warriors rolled to the PAC crossover win, picking up their 20th win of the season. Sydney Tornetta set the pace witih 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Nicole Timko scored 17. Methacton is the No. 3 seed in the PAC playoffs and will face No. 6 Boyertown Thursday at Spring-Ford.

Boys basketball
PJP II 63, PHOENIXVILLE 51 >> The Pope John Paul II boys basketball team made some history on Saturday.
The Golden Panthers defeated Phoenixville, 63-51, for their 17th win of the season, the most regular-season victories in program history. With the win, PJP also locked up its second straight Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier Division title and a first round bye in the PAC playoffs.

Phoenixville, which would have become Frontier champs with a win, was led by Steven Hamilton with 18 points and Mike Memmo with 14.
The Phantoms play in the first round of the PAC playoffs Wednesday at
Spring-Ford.
WILSON 58, METHACTON 56 >> The Methacton boys basketball team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday. The Warriors are now 19-2 overall, 15-0 in the PAC and 9-0 Liberty Division. Erik Timko led the Warriors with 21 points and Jeff Woodward added 16. Wilson 58, Methacton 56
LOWER MERION 42, SOUDERTON 37 >> The Indians rallied in the fourth quarter but came up short in a nonconference affair on Saturday. Brian Reiner paced Souderton with 14 points. Lower Merion 42, Souderton 37
UPPER DUBLIN 59, NEW HOPE 52 >> The Cardinals were led by Drew Stover, who had 21 points while seniors Bazel Brady and Jayson Williams both added 11. Upper Dublin returns home Tuesday to take on crosstown rival Wissahickon on senior night. The Cardinals will have four seniors graduating including three starter Jayson Williams.

GA 39, E&S 32 >> Casey Traina scored 19 points and the Patriots defeated Carver Engineering and Science on Saturday. The Patriots were down by 2 entering the final frame before finishing the game with a 14-5 spurt.

JENKINTOWN 63, PLUMSTEAD 25 >> The Drakes jumped out to a 34-11 lead at the half and coasted to the win on Saturday. Jenkintown 63, Plumstead 25
DOCK 83, MAST 49 >> Darius Ellis led the way with 20 points, while Steve Martin added 17 on Senior Night for the Pioneers (15-5, 12-1).
Indoor Track
WISS AT LEHIGH >> The Wissahickon Girls Indoor Track Team traveled to Lehigh University on Friday night to compete in the 6th regular season DVGTCA meet. There were several strong performances throughout the evening with the highlight being the 4x400 meter relay race. Laila Cottom, Mila Jovanovic, Jenna Saunders and Maddy Hippensteal earned a 3rd place medal in the race and ran their best time of the season, lowering it to 4:10.73, nearly a second faster than the state qualifying standard. The team will compete again at Lehigh next Friday night.
Wrestling
WISS GOES 2-1 >> Wiss traveled to Central Bucks East for a Dual Meet Tournament on Saturday and came away with a 2-1 record. beating Central Bucks West (48-21) and Norristown (37-28) while losing to Central Buck East (4920). The team is now 7-2 in its last 9 dual meets.
Outstanding individual performances were turned in by; DJ Adriaanse, Christian Smalley, Matthew Fritz, Kevin Salmon and Max Pester — all going 3-0 on the day.
