PW grad Williams named first team all-CACC

Jefferson University’s Alynna Williams (Plymouth Whitemarsh) earned All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference First Team honors. The senior led the CACC in scoring with 20.2 points per game. She ranked third in three-pointers with 73 and free throw percentage at 83.2%.

Williams, an Ambler native, scored at least 20 points 13 times this season and scored at least 30 points four times, including a season-high 37 against Shippensbu­rg. She was the CACC Player of the Week four times and was a five-time member of the league’s Honor Roll. It’s her third straight season earning All-CACC honors.

On Senior Day Saturday, Williams scored 32 points in a 72-59 win over Holy Family. She was 6-for-12 from threepoint range and grabbed three steals.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL » Albright’s Brady Wassel (Lans

dale Catholic) had seven points, seven rebounds and four assists in an 81-73 win over Widener. Widener’s Devan Rimmer (Pennridge) had 23 points, three rebounds, five assists and four steals in the game.

Bucknell’s Taylor O’Brien (Plymouth Whitemarsh) posted eight points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 55-53 win over Boston University.

Drexel’s Bailey Greenburg (Archbishop Wood) had 20 points, six rebounds and four assists in a 63-60 win over Towson. Aubree Brown (Wood) added nine points, five rebounds and five assists, Hannah Nihill (Cardinal O’Hara) eight points, six rebounds and five assists and Kate Connolly (Souderton) two points and a rebound.

Kutztown’s Casey Remolde (St. Basil) totaled 21 points, three rebounds, three blocks and four steals in a 61-57 loss against Bloomsburg. Gabbi Wright (Cheltenham) added six points, three rebounds and three assists while Annie Whalen (Wood) had six points, two rebounds, two steals and an assist. In a win over Shippensbu­rg Saturday, Remolde had 16 points, five rebounds and three blocks while Whalen had five points and three rebounds.

Penn’s Kendall Grasela (Germantown Academy) totaled three points, three assists, six rebounds, two blocks and a steal in a 74-60 win over Brown.

Salisbury’s Lauren Fortescue (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 14 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists in a 7663 loss against Christophe­r Newport.

Tufts’ Erica Decandido (Gwynedd Mercy Academy) scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 70-60 loss against Bowdoin.

University of the Sciences’ Irisa Ye (North Penn) was named the CACC Player of the Year. She is second in the league in scoring with 18.6 points per game and first in points per 40 minutes with 24.8. Ye is fourth in the conference with a 51.4 field goal percentage and sixth with an 81.4 free throw percentage. Her 38.2 three-point percentage ranks seventh. She is top 10 in assist-toturnover ratio (1.4), assists per game (3.1) and steals per game (1.9).

Ye also made the CACC Honor Roll after scoring 28 points in a 61-53 win over Chesnut Hill. Jordan Vitelli (CB South) added 12 points and Brigit Coleman (Gwynedd Mercy Academy) two points and eight rebounds. Cassie Sebold (Wood) had six points and three assists for Chestnut Hill while Lauren Crim (Lansdale Catholic) added 14 points and Bri Hewlett (North Penn) 11 points. MEN’S BASKETBALL » Army’s Tommy Funk (Wood) was named First Team All-Patriot League. Funk broke the league’s assists record this year. Funk had 13 points, three rebounds and 10 assists in a loss to Colgate Saturday.

Bucknell’s Andrew Funk (Wood) posted 15 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 74-71 loss against Boston University.

Chestnut Hill’s Ahmad Bickley (Cheltenham) was named the CACC Rookie of the Week Monday. He averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds as the Griffins went 2-0 against Holy Family and USciences.

East Stroudsbur­g’s Kitt Najee Walls (La Salle) posted nine points and seven assists in a 103-87 win over West Chester.

Fairleigh Dickinson’s Xzavier Malone-Key (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 24 points and grabbed five rebounds in an 83-77 win over Mount St. Mary’s. He also had 16 points, three rebounds and two assists in a 74-72 win over Bryant.

Holy Cross’ Matt Faw (Upper Merion) had six points, one rebound and one steal in a 90-47 loss against American. In a 6761 loss against Army, he had nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, four blocks and a steal.

Lafayette’s Justin Jaworski (Perk Valley) was named Second Team All-Patriot League. Jaworski scored his 1,000th point earlier this season.

Quinnipiac’s Ty Pickron (Wood) had five points and two rebounds in a 71-52 win over Marist.

West Chester’s Robbie Heath (Abington) scored 33 points and tallied three rebounds and two assists in an 83-73 win over Lock Haven. He also set West Chester’s freshman season scoring record, breaking former Abington teammate Amir Hinton’s mark, against East Stroudsbur­g. Matt Cerruti (Wood) had eight points, two rebounds and a steal for Lock Haven. Cerruti also had 16 points, two rebounds and two assists in a 94-76 loss against Millersvil­le.

BASEBALL » Misericord­ia’s Joe Valenti (North Penn) picked up his first NCAA win against Mitchell. He allowed four runs – three earned – on five hits over five innings. He struck out six batters to three walks.
