PA chamber launches ‘Bringing PA Back’ initiative
Website shares information to help businesses prepare for reopening
The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry on Tuesday launched its new “Bringing PA Back” website. The website is part of the chamber’s initiative to help businesses across the commonwealth safely reopen their facilities and jumpstart the economy.
“Now that the Commonwealth has worked together to successfully slow the growth of COVID-19, we’re entering the reopening phase — which means it is critical for businesses to receive the information they need in order to safely re-open their facilities,” PA Chamber President and CEO Gene Barr, said in a press release. “Our ‘Bringing PA Back’ initiative aims to do just that with a user- friendly website that will help employers as they prepare to re-open their physical locations, and ensure the safety and well-being of their employees and customers.”
Barr added that by working together, Pennsylvania “can come out of this unprecedented time stronger than before and with our economy moving forward.”
The website features information for employers, including: guidance on workplace readiness — such as cleaning and safety standards; employment opportunities; industryspecific guidance; and policy recommendations that will help to revive Pennsylvania’s economy, according to the release.
The website also includes a map of Pennsylvania — identifying which phase of the reopening process each county is currently in — along with an overview of the Wolf administration’s guidance for each phase.
The PA Chamber has also developed policy recommendations that are focused on the state’s economic recovery and highlighted on the website. The recommendations include: taxes, infrastructure, healthcare, government efficiency, energy and environmental, employer protections, workforce and education.
The chamber will work with elected officials to enact the policy recommendations and offering officials advice on how best to proceed, the press release stated.
The PA Chamber has engaged in extensive conversations with stakeholders, business leaders and local chambers over the past several weeks, to determine employers’ major concerns and needs as Pennsylvania looks to slowly re-open economies. Feedback from those conversations played a critical role in the development of the website, according to the chamber.
