22,000 FOOD BOXES DELIVERED SO FAR
Lansdale Warehouse Company assists MontCo Anti-Hunger Network with distribution
For the last eight weeks, MontCo AntiHunger Network and Lansdale Warehouse Company have teamed up to deliver 22,224 Farmers to Families food boxes to community food pantries across Montgomery County.
That’s more than 167 tons of locally sourced, fresh produce and dairy products for residents struggling with hunger, many of whom lost jobs as a result of COVID-19. The boxes were paid for by the USDA Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, a federal government effort in support of food producers and distributors whose sales were disrupted by the virus pandemic.
“This was an ambitious project for us,” said MAHN Executive Director, Paula Schafer. “Partnering with Lansdale Warehouse Company guaranteed we’d be able to pull it off.”
Collaboration with MAHN is the most recent of many civic initiatives the company has taken on over the years, said Paul Delp, owner and president of Lansdale Warehouse Company. “We have two interests, what’s good for business and what’s good for the community. Regardless of which we’re
serving, the goal is to add as much value as we can,” he said.
According to Schafer, the company has added value at every turn of her project, proving their tagline, “Customer Driven Logistics.” “The team here has gone above and beyond several times to keep this project on track,” she said. “Like the days the temp agency couldn’t find us a driver and workers from the warehouse stepped up to make our deliveries. Lansdale Warehouse has been just as committed to getting these food boxes to hungry people as I am.”
Lansdale Warehouse Company is a family owned and operated logistics provider with five locations in Hatfield and Montgomery Townships and Souderton. They specialize in fullservice warehousing, packing and fulfillment, freight transport, and offer facilities for onsite manufacturing.
