Montgomery County authorizes $5.57M in coronavirus contracts
NORRISTOWN » The Montgomery County Commissioners authorized a series of contracts totaling $5.57 million Thursday related to mitigation and response efforts surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sixteen agreements were reached with companies for materials and services concerning a number of departments ranging from the county’s Assets and Infrastructure to Public Safety departments.
An $891,441 agreement with General Devices LLC., Ridgefield, N.J., covers “14 Care Point workstations for 10 in-county hospitals and four outof-county hospitals and E-bridge software mobile telemedicine solution license applications for 20 EMS agencies.”
A $593,760.39 contract with Karl Storz Endoscopy-America Inc. of El Segundo, Calif., covers the cost of a CMac-Video Laryngoscope.
The county’s Department of Health and Human Services had several renewals for contact tracing purposes. The agreements consist of the first of three optional six-month renewal terms.
• A $529,600 agreement with ACLAMO, of Norristown, for a period from Nov. 26 to May 25, 2021.
• A $581,586 agreement with Family Services of Montgomery County, of Eagleville, for a period from Dec. 8 to June 7, 2021.
• A $522,301 agreement with VNA Community Services, of Abington, for a period from Dec. 8 to June 7, 2021.
The county ’s public safety department also purchased five vehicles, totaling $446,983, in which funds were made available through various cooperative contracts, according to the agreements. The equipment and providers are as follows:
• $267,545 for a 2020 Ford F550 ambulance from Bayhead Investments Inc. dba VCI Emergency Vehicles, of Berlin, N.J.
• $49,789 for a 2020 Ford Expedition from Chapman Ford, of Horsham.
• $45,500 for a 2020 Ford transit van from Chapman Ford, of Horsham.
• $42,770 for a 2020 Ford F250 truck from Fred Beans, of Doylestown.
• $41,449 for a 2021 Ford F250 truck from New Holland Ford, of New Holland.
A $435,889.54 contract with Singer Equipment Company Inc. of Elverson provides for “walk-in refrigerators, freezers and utility accessories for various county food banks.”
A $334,620 agreement with Sun Scientific Inc., of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. covers the cost of personal protective equipment in the amount of 101,400 disposable gowns, according to the contract.
A $280,416 contract with Norris Sales Company Inc., of Conshohocken, provides for “16 Variable message sign board trailers.” According to the agreement, the equipment was made available by way of a contract from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s cooperative purchasing program.
A $266,565 agreement with Intrado Life & Safety Solutions Corporation, of Omaha, Neb., provides for “20 portable 911 telecommunicator licenses for remote work use.”
A $157,782.45 contract with Bound Tree Medical of Dublin, Ohio, covers adult and junior manikin kits as well as accessories.
A $139,838.35 agreement with Corbett Inc., of Norristown, “provides for social distancing furniture and barriers” inside “the courthouse, One Montgomery Plaza and” the offices inside the county’s Office of Public Health. According to the contract, the equipment was available via a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s cooperative purchasing program.
According to additional contract awards, county officials also authorized the following smaller ticket items relating to the COVID-19 pandemic:
•A $68,527.20 agreement with Laerdal Medical Corporation, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., provides for infant manikin kits with accessories.
• A $48,216.60 contract with Everbridge, of Pasadena, Calif., covers Everbridge Community Engagement and Resident Connection software packages.
• A $45,050 agreement with TRC Environmental Corporation, of Windsor, Conn., covers services to evaluate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in county owned facilities.
• A $42,147 contract with PSX, of Kennett Square, which is covered by a PA Costars Contract, will provide for installation services related to a self-serve parking control system in the jury parking lot.
• A $34,500 contract with Esi Acquisition Inc., a Juvare company, of Atlanta, for a Juvare EM Resource software subscription and consulting services.
• A $33,518 agreement with Labrepco LLC, of Horsham, will cover three ultralow temperature freezers to store COVID-19 vaccines.
• A $29,926 contract with CDW Government, of Chicago, will provide for laptops for various county food banks.
• A $24,553.75 agreement with Philips Healthcare, of Andover, Mass., will provide for 25 AED Defibrillator Sets that are available via a NASPO ValuePoint cooperative contract.
Additionally, county leaders authorized a revision to a previously approved consultant contract. While the initial contract with Philadelphia-based firm PFM Solutions LLC. provided for “consulting and advisory services relating to the COVID-19 Emergency and advisement on the county reopening plans under the emergency period,” the additional $63,260 was needed for “COVID-19 financial and operations review for the Department of Public Safety.”
The revised contract now stands at $153,335, according to the agreement.
The next Montgomery County Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Dec. 17.
