Harbor Freight Tools opens in Pottstown

POTTSTOWN » Harbor Freight Tools has opened a new location in Pottstown, adding 25-30 new jobs to the community. The store, located at 203 Shoemaker Road opened on Nov. 14 and is Harbor Freight’s 41st Pennsylvan­ia location.

With 15,000-square-feet of space, the new store carries a f ull selection of tools and equipment in categories including automotive, air and power tools, storage, outdoor power equipment, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment, hand tools and more.

“At Harbor Freight, we recognize that now, more than ever, our customers depend on Harbor Freight for the tools they need to get the job done at an affordable price. We are the place for quality tools at the lowest prices for mechanics, contractor­s, homeowners and hobbyists — any tool user who cares about value,” Brian Hall, store manager of the new Pottstown location, said in a press release.

As a designated essential service, the store is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Once the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, the store will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, all Harbor Freight stores have implemente­d more f re - quent cleaning and are following the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control, including social distancing to protect the health and safety of our customers and associates, according to informatio­n provided by the company.

Harbor Freight Tools was founded in Southern California in 1977, when 17-year-old Eric Smidt began transformi­ng his father’s small sales business into a successful mail order company. Today, family-owned Harbor Freight has more than 1,100 stores across the country with more than 21,000 employees.
