Archbishop Carroll and Wissahickon each put together strong 2021 seasons and that was reflected with both teams having a pair of players selected to the 2021 The Reporter/Times Herald/Montgomery Media Girls Lacrosse All-Area First Team.
Senior Keri Barnett – the 2021 All-Area Player of the Year – and junior Kiley Mottice helped lead Carroll to its 20th straight Philadelphia Catholic League title and the Patriots’ second PIAA championship, topping Strath Haven for the 2A state crown. Both players earned PCL first team and US Lacrosse Eastern Pennsylvania AllAmerican honors.
Barnett, the Catholic League MVP heading to West Chester, had 57 goals and a team-high 61 draw controls while Mottice, a North Carolina commit, finished with 59 goals and handed out 66 assists.
Juniors Emma Baker and Lexi Hobson were big parts of Wissahickon’s undefeated regular season and SOL American Conference title with each named to the all-conference first team.
Baker, a Towson commit, scored 92 goals and dished out 34 assists. Hobson, who was invited to the US Lacrosse National Team Development Program Combine this month – Mottice was as well – posted 26 goals and 22 assists in 2021.
