Wiss grad Elwell named All-SEC

Women’s Soccer

• Vanderbilt’s Maddie Elwell (Wissahicko­n) scored a goal in Sunday’s 1-1 tie with Florida in the SEC Tournament before falling in PKs. The fifth-year senior was named Second Team All-SEC for the third straight season earlier in the day.

Columbia junior Ally Clark (Germantown Academy) assisted the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Yale.

• Drexel’s Casey Touey (Abington) played 72 minutes off the bench and registered two shots in Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Elon

• High Point freshman Lindsey

DeHaven (Pennridge) assisted the game-winning goal in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over UNC Asheville.

• Bloomsburg’s Campbell Power (Souderton) took one of 13 shots on the day in a 2-1 loss to Kutztown.

Field Hockey

• Penn’s Courtney Kenah (Souderton) had the assist on the lone goal in Friday’s 1-0 win over Columbia.

• Millersvil­le’s Kate Strickland (Dock) had an assist as the Marauders defeated Seton HIll 4-0 on Saturday in a regular season finale.

College Football

• Virginia Tech’s Raheem Blackshear (Archbishop Wood) ran 14 times for 83 yards in Saturday’s 26-17 win over Boston College. Nasir Peoples (Wood) had two tackles at safety.

• Penn State’s Nick Tarburton (Pennridge) had three stops, including a tackle for loss, in Saturday’s 33-24 loss at Ohio State

• Temple’s George Reid (Abington) had two tackles, one for loss, in Saturday’s 49-7 loss to UCF.

• Villanova’s Garrett Zobel (La Salle) had six tackles in a 31-18 loss to William and Mary on Saturday. Teammate Owen Thomas (North Penn) added four tackles.

• Kutztown’s Darryl Davis-McNeil (Abington) rushed the ball 12 times for 70 yards in a 30-7 win

over Millersvil­le on Saturday. Davis-McNeil added two receptions for six yards.

NFL

• Kyle Pitts (Archbishop Wood) of the Atlanta Falcons had two receptions for 13 yards in a 19-13 defeat to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

• Denver Broncos’ Brandon McManus (North Penn) hit another field goal in a 17-10 victory over the Washington Redskins. McManus unfortunat­ely missed his first field goal of the year after hitting his first 13.

• Matt Ammendola (North Penn) hit 2-of-3 field goals for the New York Jets in a 34-31 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Ammendola is currently 8-of11 on the season.

Women’s Swimming

• Lycoming junior Katherine Brown (Abington) was named the MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week.

She led the Warriors in a dual meet with Stevenson with three top-MAC times. Brown won the 50yard freestyle in personalbe­st 24.78 seconds, the 100yard freestyle in personalbe­st 55.01 seconds and the 100 breast in 1:06.57.

Men’s Swimming

• Bloomsburg junior Andy Thomas (HatboroHor­sham) won three individual events but the Huskies fell short against West Chester University 106-99. Thomas won the 200 free, 100 free and 100 breaststro­ke.

Women’s Volleyball

• Bloomsburg senior Mary Kate Mooney (Pope John Paul II) had six kills as the Huskies split a trimatch with West Chester and D’Youville College. Grad student Alyssa Cianciulli (Pope John Paul II) added 14 digs and is just two shy from 2,000 for her career. Cianciulli added four aces for the Huskies. Senior Bryn Stek (Upper Dublin) dished out 17 assists.

On Friday night, the Huskies dropped a 3-1 decision to Millersvil­le. Cianciulli posed a team-best three aces and 34 digs in defeat.

• Neumann University freshman Catie Esslinger (Mount St. Joe’s) handed out 17 assists but the Knights fell to DeSales University in five sets by scores of 20-25, 1725, 25-12, 25-21 and 15-12 on Saturday night. Leading 21-20 in the first set, the Knights scored four straight points for the 2520 win. Up 19-17 late in the second set, Esslinger had three straight aces as Neumann won 25-17. Later in the day, Neumann lost 3-1 to Stockton despite 16 assists from Esslinger.

• Holy Family senior Morgan Silks (Archbishop Carroll) led the Tigers to a 3-0 sweep of Georgian Court. Silks keyed the win in the third set with a pair of aces.
