Republicans get wins; Miller upset in West Rockhill
With the exception of Sellersville, where the incumbent Democrats had no Republican opponents on the ballot and one Perkasie Borough Council race that was won by the Democratic party incumbent, this year’s Pennridge area borough and township races went to Republican candidates, according to unofficial counts on the Bucks County website the morning after Election Day.
Perkasie
In the race for a fouryear term as Perkasie Borough mayor, Republican Jeff Hollenbach had 1,576 votes to Democrat Kelly Laustsen’s 998 and Independent Matthew B. Lynch’s 424. Current Mayor John Hollenbach, no relation to Jeff Hollenbach, did not run for reelection this year.
In the first ward, where there were two four-year seats on Perkasie Borough Council up for election, the seats went to Republican David Worthington with 569 votes and Republican incumbent Chuck Brooks with 556 votes. On the Democratic ballot, Matt Valley had 413 votes and Mary Antczak had 406.
In the second ward, where there was one fouryear term on Perkasie Borough Council up for election, it went to incumbent Democrat Steven Rose, who had 393 votes to Republican Kim Bedillion’s 358.
In the third ward, where there were two four-year seats on Perkasie Borough Council up for election, the seats went to Republican Jim Ryder and Independent Scott Bomboy, who was also on the ballot as a Republican. Both are incumbents. Bomboy had 660 votes and Ryder 561. On the Democratic ballot, Lauren Pareti had 520 votes and Jeremy D. Wano had 479.
Bedminster
In the race for one sixyear seat on the Bedminster Township Board of Supervisors, incumbent Republican Morgan Cowperthwaite, Jr. had 1,564 votes to Democrat Don Bradley’s 973.
East Rockhill
In the race for one sixyear seat on the East Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors, incumbent Republican Jim Nietupski had 1,049 votes to Democrat Blake H. Eisenhart’s 803.
West Rockhill
In the race for one sixyear seat on the West Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors, Republican Henry L. Schirmer, Jr. had 897 votes, giving him the victory over incumbent Democrat James E. Miller, Jr., who had 843.
Dublin
In Dublin, incumbent Republican Mayor Christopher N. Hayes was unopposed for another fouryear term. He received 414 votes.
With four four-year seats on Dublin Borough Council up for election, there were three Republican candidates and no Democratic candidates on the ballot. Matthew S. Mayes received 341 votes, Brent Smith had 335 and Jeffrey J. Sharer had 321. There were also write-in votes to fill the fourth seat.
Hilltown
In Hilltown, incumbent Republican James C. Groff, who was on both the Republican and Democratic ballots, won another sixyear term on the Hilltown Township Board of Supervisors. He had 4,319 votes.
Sellersville
In Sellersville, incumbent Democratic Mayor Thomas C. Hufnagle was unopposed for another four-year term. He received 798 votes.
Incumbent Democrats Donald Crouthamel, Kathleen J. Hallman, Lois A. Dodson and Lynne Saylor were unopposed for another four-year term on Sellersville Borough Council. Crouthamel had 679 votes, Hallman had 667, Dodson had 648 and Saylor had 640.
Silverdale
In Silverdale, incumbent Republican Mayor Steven Cordell was unopposed for another four-year term. He received 232 votes.
Republicans Andrew B. Constanzer, Amy Montgomery, John P. Clark, Jr., and Lawrence T. C. Feick were unopposed for four four-year terms on Silverdale Borough Council. Constanzer received 211 votes, Montgomery 207, Clark 205 and Feick 194.
