Emily Kriebel Clemens

-

Emily Kriebel Clemens, age 94, passed away peacefully at her Dock Community home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She was the beloved wife of her late husband of 57 years, John W. Clemens.

Born and raised in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Emerson S. and Anna Fuss Kriebel and was a graduate of Norristown High School.

Emily was a devoted and strong wife and mother; a patient matriarch who was loved and respected by all who met her. She was a woman of many talents and selflessly shared them with others. A longtime member of Central Schwenkfelder Church, she spent countless hours sewing quilts for the fair, arranging flowers for church events and serving in the choir, Ladies Aid, Board of Trustees and teaching Sunday School.

In addition to the quilting, she was a talented seamstress who made dozens of wedding and prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses, costumes and baby clothes. She always had a needlepoint project nearby and gifted family and friends with Christmas stockings, ornaments, pillows, and belts that will be treasured forever.

She had a passion and talent for gardening and flowers, enjoying both as a member of the Norristown Garden Club, sharing her garden-fresh produce, and crafting arrangements for holidays, friends, church, family, or anyone that needed them. She also loved to travel, and she and John adventured together around the country and world. Her delight in travel continued even in her later years, with trips near and far, from river cruises to weddings and adventures off the beaten path.

More than anything, Emily dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she leaves them with many happy memories to cherish. Memories of trips to the mountains, beach vacations, family picnics, motorhome road trips, garden and flower shows, adventures abroad, horse shows, and many holiday meals at the farm.

We grieve the loss of her with us but celebrate her beautiful heavenly reunion. Emily is survived by her children, Carol Clemens of Lansdale; Jane Dimmig (Tom) of Rougemont, NC; Becky McBrien (Mike) of Broad Axe; Scott Clemens of Harleysville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Wiliam F. Kriebel, Emerson S. Kriebel, Jr., Laura K. Clemens and Esther K. Kulp.

The family wants to send their sincere appreciation and thanks to Laura for her loving care and friendship over the last several years, including keeping our voracious reader supplied with a steady

stack of books, her first library card, and wonderful homemade sweets.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 1pm on Wednesday, June 29 at Central Schwenkfelder Church, 2111 Valley Forge Rd. Lansdale, PA 19446, where the family will receive

friends following the service. Burial will be private for the family at the Garden of Memories in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Central Schwenkfelder Church at the address above, or to the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center, 105 Seminary St. Pennsburg, PA 18073.
