Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church will continue the Hiking Ministry for 2022 on Saturday, July 23, and continue each month on the fourth Saturday of the month through October. The group meets at the church at 8:30a.m. and returns by 11a.m. The hikes are about 4miles in length and there is a short devotional time at the halfway point. Different trails are taken each month which are no more than 30minutes from the church. The hike is open to anyone who would like to join to get some exercise, fresh air, companionship, and be closer to God and His creation. This month’s hike location has not been determined. Hikers can meet at the church at 8:30. The paths are either paved or crushed gravel, no dirt trail and in open environment with some shade. Walk will be about 3miles. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 211S. Main St., North Wales, celebrates Sunday, July 17, with a Communion service in the sanctuary at 10a.m. Music will be by St. Peter’s Belles. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person and can be accessed from our website www.stpetersnorthwales. org. Masks are optional. And there will be a special Zoom service at 9a.m. to incorporate members on vacation and in other states. The Thrift Shop is closed for the summer and will reopen in September. The Deacons at Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church will be collecting back packs and school supplies to benefit children served by Chester Eastside Ministries, Gemma Services, Hope Prison Ministries and the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club. Donations are needed of the following items: composition books (marble & other types); spiral notebooks (wide and college ruled); pocket folders (with or w/o brads); loose leaf binders (1inch preferred); packs of loose-leaf paper ( wide and college rule); dividers; boxes of reinforcements; pencils (wooden or mechanical); pencil sharpeners; pencil boxes/cases; pens (blue or black); large pencil erasers; highlighters; boxes of markers (jumbo washable and regular); boxes of crayons (8-pack jumbo and regular); boxes of colored pencils; glue sticks (no bottles please); rulers (inch and centimeter measurements); scissors, and hand sanitizer. Items can be dropped off Sunday mornings between 8and 11a.m. at the church, 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, or email deacons@gwyneddsquare.org to arrange an alternate drop-off time. The last day to participate is Sunday, July 31.

The club has been active for over 20 years and is named after its founder, Betsy Albinson. The next meeting will be Wednesday, July 18, at Pizza Time Saloon, 1900West Point Pike, West Point, at 5:30 p.m. The books to be discussed will be “The Dictionary of Lost Words” by Pin Williams and “Rock, Paper Scissors” by Alice Feeney. The club meets on a Wednesday or Thursday every other month. At each meeting the group chooses the books to be read for the next meeting, the date, and the meeting place. The books span an array of types, such as fiction, non-fiction, biographies, historical fiction and memoirs. Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church is pleased to report that the Women’s Bible Study known as the DIVAS (Divinely Inspired Victoriously Affirming Studies) will continue in-person sessions.
