Freedom Medical acquired by US Med-Equip
Merger expected to boost support for healthcare providers
Freedom Medical, a Chester County-based national provider of movable medical equipment and asset management services has been acquired by US Med-Equip, a provider of rented medical equipment and services. The acquisition is expected to help meet the growing equipment and service needs of hospitals and other healthcare partners.
Hospitals across the country are turning to rental partners delivering medical equipment ondemand to help them provide the best patient care and save costs, according to a press release announcing the acquisition.
US Med-Equip, which has its headquarters in Houston, Texas partners with hospitals across the country for the rental, sales, service and asset management of movable medical equipment — diagnostic and clinical devices ranging from infant incubators to ventilators and more.
In addition to movable medical equipment and asset management services, Uwchlan Township-based Freedom Medical is known for providing patient beds and therapeutic support surfaces with WAVE technology designed to help improve patient outcomes.

The acquisition of Freedom Medical’s 45 locations across the country doubles US Med-Equip’s number of locations to 100, increases its workforce by 50% to 700 and accelerates its national expansion to provide critical equipment to hospitals when they need it.
Freedom Medical was found in 1997 and has its headquarters Uwchlan Township, Chester County. Freedom is a provider of rental medical equipment and related outsourced support services to hospitals and long-term care centers throughout the U.S. The company’s equipment offerings consist of critical care, respiratory therapy, patient monitoring, newborn care, and specialty beds and therapeutic support surfaces.
US Med-Equip was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas, The company is a distributor and rental and related services provider of moveable medical equipment used in hospitals.
US Med-Equip acquired Freedom Medical from R.A.F. Industries, Inc., a Philadelphia-based long-term focused capital provider.
