Rev. Dr. Susan C. Bertolette

Rev. Dr. Susan C. Bertolette, 66, of Lansdale, died Thursday, August 4, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Robert G. Bertolette, Jr., her husband of 45 years.

Born August 13, 1955 in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Helen (Hem) Bryan.

Rev. Sue was the longtime pastor of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Lansdale, retiring as Senior Pastor in June 2022. A graduate of Eastern College, she received her Master of Divinity Degree from Eastern Baptist Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary) and her Doctor of Ministry degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1993. She was also active with the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference of the UCC where she served as Moderator.

Rev. Sue was dedicated to the Lansdale area. She was a founding member and chaplain of the North Penn VNA Hospice and Chair of the Church Relations Committee at Phoebe Ministries, along with countless other community organizations.

Her hobbies included camping, vacationing in Avalon with family, walking, and bicycling. She was also an avid reader and wine aficionado.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, John D. Bertolette (Kelly) of Conshohocken, and Jenny Young (Ryan) of Washington, DC; her beloved grandchildren; Ruby and Levi; and two brothers, William E. Bryan and Barry E. Bryan, both of Glenside.

Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at St. John’s UCC, 500 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446. A second visitation will be held between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 12 at the church followed by the

Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
