TOWAMENCIN >> Pennridge added luster to an unbeaten league season Wednesday night, putting on a terrific, medal-filled performance at the Suburban One League Colonial Division Championships.

“This is another great night,” said the Rams’ Quinn McBride, division champ at 121 pounds. “We’re out here doing our thing.”

The Rams accumulated 11 medals and scored 190.5 points, pulling away from Central Bucks East (137 points) and the rest of their Colonial rivals during an impressive evening on the mats at North Penn High School.

CB South (120), Souderton Area (117.5), North Penn (69) and CB West (54) also had their moments at the division championships, as the postseason begins to pick up steam.

“This definitely got the momentum going,” said McBride, who raised his record to 15-4 during an outstanding freshman season.

McBride earned a 7-3 decision over Souderton Area’s Charlie Arobone in the finals.

“It feels good. It’s not exactly what I wanted to do in the finals but I went out there and got the job done,” McBride said. “That’s all that matters. I was hoping for a pin but that didn’t happen. I still have a lot of work to do but it will be worth it.”

McBride and the Rams now have their sights set on the District 1-3A Section East Championships, Feb. 25 at Quakertown.

“I feel like the hardest opponent I’m gonna face is Mason Ziegler (of Quakertown),” McBride said. “But I’m up for the challenge and ready to put in that work. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Colby Martinelli got the finals started in style for Pennridge, winning an 11-0 major decision over Sam Hunter of CB East.

Pennridge also took the title at 160, where Ryan Gallagher pinned CB East’s Rhys Marshall in 2:21.

Talan Hogan of the Rams followed with a win at 172, taking an 8-0 major decision victory over Souderton’s Ben Beckett.

The Patriots capped the evening with backto-back pins.

Reagan McCullough pinned Pennridge’s Chase Washington in 2:40 at 215 and Joe Collins pinned North Penn’s Devon Pinkert in 3:47 at 285.
