Dixon city is now seeking applicants for commissions
Dixon residents who want to serve their communities and happen to be knowledgeable of land use or traffic and transportation, the city has openings for you.
Dixon is seeking applications to fill two vacancies on its advisory committees, one for the Planning Commission and another for the Transportation Advisory Commission. Both agencies vote on issues pertaining to their jurisdiction, with many of their recommendations going to the City Council for final approval.
Applicants must live in Dixon to serve on either body, and a $50 stipend will be paid to commissioners each month.
The Planning Commission votes and discusses matters related to planning and land use. Commissioners ser ve fouryear terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms. The vacancy in question would fill an unexpired term through June 30, 2023. The commission meets 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
The Transportation Advisory Commission votes on matters related to transportation, traffic and parking. As with the Planning Commission, members serve two four-year terms and the vacant position is an unexpired term that runs through June 30, 2023. The commission meets 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of evennumbered months.
