A Solano County Superior Court judge has rescheduled the held-to-answer arraignment for the suspect in a Vallejo woman’s June murder.

Kenneth Travaille Hill, 49, was scheduled for the arraignment on Monday, but court records indicate Judge Daniel Healy ordered the defendant to return at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 30 in Department 2 in the Justice Building in Vallejo.

Court records did not specify why the matter was rescheduled but in the past six months, because of the ongoing pandemic and public health directives, some court operations have been reduced.

Hill is charged with the June 20 fatal shooting of Symphony Monk in an unincorporated area of Vallejo.

Hill is represented by Fairfield-based attorney Dionne E. Choyce. Deputy District Attorney Melainee Collins leads the prosecution.

The Solano County District Attorney’s Office filed its complaint against Hill on July 1, and, at the same time, obtained his record of arrests and prosecutions, or RAP sheet.

Inane mailed press release to The Reporter, District Attorney Krishna Abrams indicated that Hill is charged with first-degree murder.

The prepared statement also noted that, on June 20, Solano County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the unincorporated area of Vallejo after receiving calls about a dead woman at that location.

Upon arrival, the deputies found Monk, who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to her head and had died, according to the DA’s statement.

Sheriff’ s detectives Charles Olmstead and Dylan Friend were able to compile data from license plate readers and cell phone providers which led them to the identity of Monk’s alleged shooter. Hill was subsequently arrested and charged with her murder.

If found guilty at trial, Hill faces 25 years to life for the killing and likely more time for use of a firearm and any prior felony convictions.
