A trial date is still pending for a teenager who police believe opened fire on passengers in a sport utility vehicle more than two years ago at Solano Town Center in Fairfield.

Givon Marcel Edmondson Jr., 19, of Sacramento, was scheduled to appear Wednesday in Department 5, Judge Stephanie Grogan Jones’s Fairfield courtroom, for a readiness conference and trial setting, but both were postponed until 8:30 a.m. Dec. 8 in the Justice Center.

Edmondson faces three counts of attempted murder, one count of firing a gun into an occupied vehicle, and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon for the Nov. 20, 2017, shooting in the sprawling mall’s parking lot. Edmondson was 16 at the time of the alleged crimes.

At a January court appearance, he was represented by Fairfield-based defense attorney Carol Long. He was previously represented by Kellin

Cooper, a lawyer in Berkeley.

Court records also show that, on April 23, Judge Jones denied Long’s motion for bail reduction and release from custody.

Edmondson was arrested three days after the shooting and booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall.

T he ca se wa s later transferred to adult criminal court, and the Solano County District Attorney’s Office filed its complaint on Nov. 14, 2018. The document listed the victims only by their initials A.T., J.E., and J.L. and did not indicate their ages or any other identifying details.

If convicted, one count of attempted first- degree murder carries a life sentence (with the possibility of parole); otherwise, the sentencing range is generally five to nine years in prison. Edmondson also may face additional time for the assault charges and firing a gun into an inhabited vehicle.
