Lack of leadership

-

Vacaville City Councilmembers Sullivan, Wylie, and Silva have a clear agenda: Anti-police.

They still haven’t stood up and specifically condemned the anti-police graffiti and death threats. Nolan Sullivan refuses to stand up for the city’s police officers, and refuses to condemn all police threats and violence against our police department. Sullivan’s posting on his Facebook page — “Don’t believe everything you hear on social media” as well as him saying “we have families, we have lives, and your irresponsible statements can put those in jeopardy” — only seems to apply to himself. What about all the lives of police officers and their families? His neglect to help protect this city and its officers has put not only their lives but the lives of their families in jeopardy.

Nolan Sullivan is not strong enough to stand up to the hate and lies that claim that our police officers are racist, and this makes them a target. His weak leadership further emboldens those that seek to divide our community.

Sullivan and Wylie have been seen at protests and are pictured on social media showing support for the protesters who are responsible for the vandalism and death threats to our officers and citizens. Nolan Sullivan and Janette Wiley are partially responsible for that vandalism and those death threats due to their show of support for these groups. They have helped foster this environment of hate and violence. The question is how should they be held accountable for this group and their role in helping to incite and escalate the tension in our city?

The past president of the United States was impeached for inciting violence in the city where he was living. Nolan Sullivan, Janette Wylie, Michael Silva, Jason Roberts and Roy Stockton need to be recalled or resign because of the violence they have incited in our city. The recall process for these five council members will start on March 8.
