Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey Sunday has been in the works for almost two years, a report says. The Duchess of Sussex originally tried to arrange a “short interview” with Gayle King, her friend and CBS anchor, after her son Archie’s birth in May 2019, the Daily Mail reported. Meghan was overruled by the royal family’s public relations representatives, however. The royal aides feared that the British media would be angry that the American duchess was giving her first exclusive interview to an American TV personality.

Spring begins later this month so expect to see an influx in rabbits.

At least, at the Vacaville Museum, when it hosts its Jack is Back People’s Choice Parade March 27.

Those who have spent any amount of time around Vacaville have likely noticed creatively designed fiberglass jackrabbits in various businesses or other places. These rabbits began as a museum fundraiser in 2015 where 23 large fiberglass hares were painted or given new designs by local artists. Another set of upright-standing rabbits was distributed to local artists last year, given sponsors and displayed throughout town after an initial reception in the museum’s courtyard in September.

Now the “Jacks” are set to return to the courtyard for a People’s Choice Parade where attendees can get a close look at the designs artists have chosen for the long-eared lagomorphs and vote for their favorite. The rabbit with the most votes will be crowned as the firstplace winner, and there will also be prizes for the second and third highest vote-getters as well, museum officials wrote in a news release.

After the People’s Choice winner is selected, the bunnies will be auctioned off and given new homes. Winners will be announced at Facebook.com/thevacavillemuseum/ and the event page at Facebook.com/ events/469567151067043/. All proceeds will support the museum.

The event will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 27 in the museum courtyard, 213 Buck Ave. . The event is free, but donations are encouraged to support the museum. Face coverings are required to attend.
