Admission to Vaca games to be limited
Vacaville High School announced Monday that admission to home football games at Tom Zunino Stadium will be limited.
The Bulldogs begin the spring season on Friday at Davis High. Their first scheduled home game is March 26 against Armijo.
“For the 2021 spring football season, in order to protect the health and safety of our student-athletes and school personnel, and in adherence to California Department of Public Health guidelines on spectators at sporting events, attendance at games will be closed to the general public and student body,” a news release said. “Spectators in the stadium will be limited to two members of the participating students’ household. Coaches will communicate directly with families, and our visiting teams, to facilitate a ticket/admission process for home contests.
“In addition, for those who do attend, it’s important to know there will be no field level access at any football games this year. Access will be restricted to players, school personnel (with identification), associated student groups and their coaches (ie. cheer, drill team) and local media representatives with proper identification. For all those who attend, masks will be required at all times, and social distancing
should be maintained.”
The release stated that the athletic department has worked to provide a live-stream option for the general public to be able to watch home games. Information regarding the live steam can be found on the school website, Facebook page, and Vacaville High School Football Facebook page.
“We know for many this will be greatly disappointing, as attending football games at the “Z” is about more than just watching football,” the release stated. “We are looking forward to the time when we can open our gates again to the general public and join together for Friday Night Lights!”
