Vacaville High golfers remain unbeaten
Vacaville High improved to 9-0 in Monticello Empire League boys golf with a 224-345 win over Armijo Tuesday at Paradise Valley Golf Course.
Vacaville demonstrated its depth, as it had the five lowest scores of the day. The Bulldogs’ Jack Mitchell had the low of 41 for the nine holes, followed by teammates Ben Wilhite (43), Dylan Dzierman (45), Tyler Riley (47), and Cody Jensen (48).
Spencer Merodio was best for Armijo at 66, followed by Nate McNaughton (67), Joel Ward (69),
Joshua Rusit (70), Ciaran Simmons (72) and Stephen McDaniel (73).

Vanden’s Jerah Venkaiya had the low score of the day, a 39 over nine holes.
Wood’s Sean Riley (46), Joshua Reed (47) and William Booth (57) were next, followed by Vanden’s Noah McClaskey (59). Wood’s Nem Drca carded a 70, while teammate Trenton Conyers shot a 71. Vanden’s Tyler Bolin carded a 73.
Wood improved to 5-3 in MEL play.

VANDEN 8, WILL C. WOOD 0 >> Vanden upped its MEL record to 8-1 with a home shutout of Wood on Tuesday. All the Vikings’ wins were in straight sets.
Sasha Smith took No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0. No. 2 singles went to Maya Khanna, 6-0, 6-1. Delaney Ramsell won No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Jasmin Yabut triumphed in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0. No. 5 singles went to Paige VanPelt, 6-0, 6-0, and Camille Arca took No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Vanden took two doubles matches by default, and neither club fielded a pair for the third doubles match.
ARMIJO 9, FAIRFIELD 0 >> Armijo improved to 4-5 in MEL play with a shutout of Fairfield at Armijo on Tuesday.
Flora Wan took No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and Faustina Wan won No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. No. 3 singles went to Maria Farias, 6-1, 6-0, and Monica Braun won No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Guadalupe Hernandez won No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Armijo won No. 6 singles by forfeit.
In doubles, Melissa Theodorus-Nicole Go won in the No. 1 slot, 6-0, 6-0, and Lauren Vickroy-Jessica Dang were victorious at No. 2, 6-0, 6-1. Armijo won No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
