Playoff brackets announced
As the regular season has come to a close earlier in the week, a few teams around the Solano County region have punched their ticket to a respective playoff seeding in different divisions.
VANDEN >> Vanden completed its regular season undefeated, going 18-0 overall and 15-0 in the Monticello Empire League, winning the league title.
Earning a No. 1 seed in Division III, the Vikings will begin their postseason play in front of their home crowd on Tuesday, when they host the No. 16 seed Rosemont Wolverines (14-11). VACAVILLE >> Vacaville landed the third and final playoff spot in the MEL to compete in sections, finishing third in league with an overall record of 14-12, and 8-7 against league opponents.
Slated with the No. 13 seed in the Division II bracket, the Bulldogs will be on the road against No. 4 seed Roseville Tigers on Tuesday.
DIXON >> The Golden Empire League champion, Dixon, continues to ride a wave of momentum, having not lost a game since March 11th and tying with Pinole Valley back on April 23. The Rams finished with a 19-1-1 record overall and 10-0 in league play.
The Rams earned the No.1 seed in the Division IV bracket, and have a bye in the first round. The Rams will begin play on Thursday, taking on the winner of the No. 8 Caso Roble Rams and the No.9 Sonora Wildcats on their home diamond.
VACAVILLE CHRISTIAN >> Finishing the season in second place in the Sierra Delta League, Vacaville Christian finished its season with an 8-4 overall record and 7-3 in league play.
Earning a bracket spot in Division VII, the No. 3 seeded Falcons are set to host the No. 8 Ripon Christian Knights on their home diamond on Tuesday.
BUCKINGHAM CHARTER >> In the Division VI bracket for Sections, Buckingham Charter were crowned the Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League champions, finishing their season with an 11-6 overall record and 9-1 in league.
Slated as a No. 8 seed, the Knight are set to go on the road Tuesday as they take on the No.1 seed in the Woodland Christian Cardinals.
