Fairfield man arrested and firearms seized
A domestic violence report in Fairfield Tuesday led to an arrest and the seizure of a cache of firearms.
Around 10:45 a.m., officers spoke with a woman who said that a man later identified as Robert Breed of Fairfield had pointed a handgun at her during an argument, then fled.
Police detained Breed at his home, officials said, and the Special Operations Team performed a warrant search of the residence.
Found, officials said, were numerous weapons including the weapon described by the victim, two AR-15-style rifles, two AK47-style rifles, two Glock 19 handguns (one with an extended magazine), and a tactical shotgun.
Breed was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of numerous charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a firearm and vandalism.
The vandalism charge, police said, stemmed from Breed destroying a table, lights, sheet rock and ceiling tiles in a Fairfield Police Department interview room.
“We want people to know there are resources, and you're not alone,” said officials in a statement, expanding on its Family Violence Unit. The team's detectives, victim advocate and police technician all have “specialized knowledge and training necessary to deal with the sensitive nature of victims exposed to domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse crimes. All services are confidential, and the victims are not required to have a police report with law enforcement.”
