Carolyn (Nesmith) Flack

October 18, 1934 - June 16, 2022 Bainbridge, WA

-

Carolyn (Nesmith) Flack was born on October 18, 1934 in Statesboro, GA. A military spouse, she traveled the country with her USAF husband of 51 years before eventually settling in Vacaville, CA.

There she and George raised three children, Teresa, Mike and Shirley. Although Carolyn never finished high school she was an ambitious go-getter, earning a realtor’s license, later followed by a broker’s license to assist her husband in their real estate business.

Never daunted by changing technology, she moved effortlessly from handwriting, typewriting and snail mail to desktops, tablets, email and Facebook. Always patient and kind and known for her bubbly personality she even assisted other seniors in her later years in getting comfortable with using all the new technologies available.

She took pride in continuous learning and her ability to achieve major life goals through her own drive and desire to gain knowledge. Her love of learning lasted throughout her lifetime. Always the Southern belle, she was known for her southern charm and grace, peaches and cream complexion, sparkling blue eyes, quick wit and amazing inner strength that saw her through so many challenges during her long life.

Anyone who knew her, and there were many, would be quick to say Carolyn never met a stranger and she was loved by so many.

Carolyn Flack joined her husband, George William in Heaven on June 16, 2022 from Bainbridge, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, George Flack in 2005; and brother, Vernon Nesmith in 2019. She is survived by her sister, Linda Collins and husband Carlee; brother, Frank NeSmith (wife Judy NeSmith passed on June 7, 2022); daughter, Teresa Aguilera and husband John of Dixon, CA; son, Mike Flack of Joplin, MO; Shirley Giles and husband Bill of Bainbridge, WA; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Carolyn will be laid to rest in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery in a private family service.
