Floral Fantasy helps arts

- The Reporter

Immerse yourself in the beauty of flowers while also supporting the arts by way of the Floral Fantasy Luncheon in Vacaville.

The event, hosted by the Saturday Club of Vacaville, is set for noon March 18 at the Club, at 125 West Kendal St.

Proceeds will help the organization and its Foundation support local cultural arts and arts education.

Ticket holders will be treated to a live flower arrangement demonstration given by Caryn Mikich, owner of Stems Florist in downtown Vacaville. Mikich, a floral designer for more than 20 years, will share tips and tricks for arranging bouquets, creating centerpieces and more.

Her creations will be auctioned off.

Lunch from Pietro's No. 2 will be served.

“We are so thrilled to have Caryn at this event,” said said Jacqueline Pelton, chair of the Floral Fantasy event committee, in a press statement. “Her eye for creating beautiful floral work along with her generosity and love for her community are well known. She is a true gift to Vacaville.”

Tickets are $35 per person and seating is limited. All ages are welcome.

Reservations must be made by calling Pat Dennis at 455-0646.

Street parking will be available on the blocks surrounding the event. A free public parking lot is two blocks away on Main and Cernon streets (in front of Maximum Fitness).

The Saturday Club is a 113-year-old civic club dedicated to fostering the cultural arts in Vacaville.

The Saturday Club Foundation awards annual scholarships to high school students who show artistic talent and plan to study at the collegiate level.
