Peyton Olds throws six-inning no-hitter for Vacaville High

Vanden defeats Wood

The Vacaville High baseball team won its third game in a row off the strength of Peyton Olds throwing a sixinning no-hitter in a 10-0 victory over Armijo.

Olds walked three and struck out five batters in the win. Olds lowered his ERA to 1.52 after the win. He needed 73 pitches in the gem.

Dom Yacovetti had two hits and three RBI in the win, while his teammate Tyler Chalk also had two hits. Austin Clarke had a triple and two RBI.

Vacaville will play next on Wednesday at home against Armijo. The Bulldogs are now 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the Monticello Empire League.

Vanden 13, Wood 4

The Vanden High baseball team defeated Will C. Wood 13-4 on Monday in Monticello Empire League action.

Vanden led 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth before exploding for six runs in the frame to build a 10-3 lead.

Isaiah Shahan drove in six runs for the Vikings and collected two hits. Kekoa Grinton had two hits and scored three runs, while Cayne Hill had a three-run homer for Vanden.

Ryan Cahalan pitched five innings and gave up five hits while striking out three batters. Wood plays Vanden again at home on Wednesday.

Berean Christian 8, Vacaville Christian 5

The Vacaville Christian baseball team lost to Berean Christian 8-5 on Monday.

The Falcons led 5-3 heading to the top of the seventh, but Berean Christian scored five in the frame to take the win.

Nicko Meadows collected three hits in the loss for the Falcons. Teagan Gonzales also had three hits while driving in a run.

Bennett Wilson had three hits for Berean Christian, while Josh Werner drove in three runs and had two hits.
