The Vacaville People's Forum announced its fourth annual Be You! event, set to take place from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Play4All Park in Vacaville.

This free gathering is made possible through collaboration with City Councilmember Michael Silva and the Measure M District Dollars Program.

The event embraces the theme of diversity and inclusivity, while also aiming to spotlight the unique qualities and contributions of differently-abled individuals within the community. Serving as a platform for celebration, the event underscores the importance of acknowledging and valuing every member of society.

Attendees can anticipate an array of activities, including guest speakers, community organizations, and the lively beats of D.J. Rene Ortiz. A highlight of the day will be a spirited parade, inviting all participants to join in a symbolic display of unity.

Integral to the event is the resource fair, where local agencies and community organizations will offer valuable information about their programs and support services. Among the participating organizations are the North Bay Regional Center, Solano County Office of Education, UCP of the North Bay, Napa/ Solano Area Agency on Aging, Special Olympics Northern California, and Parents Empowering Parents.

Established in 2020, the Vacaville People's Forum originally set out to provide a platform for community-driven political discourse. Recognizing the ongoing need for amplifying underrepresented voices, VPF has expanded its scope to include events like the Martin Luther King Day observance, Be You!, and the Vacavill's Pride in the Park Festival.

Additionally, its annual “Inspiring Women of Vacaville” campaign spotlights women whose contributions often go unnoticed in our city.
