Books needed for Falls of Schuylkill Library book sale.
EAST FALLS » Your spring cleaning can help the library.
As you weed through your books, consider donating them to the Falls Library for the annual Spring Sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Falls of Schuylkill Library.
The library is seeking donations of books in good condition and will accept and welcome hardbacks, paperbacks, books on tape, CDs, DVDs and children’s books. No textbooks, encyclopedias or magazines, please.
The friends group is able to accept book donations during the following designated hours: Monday evenings, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, from 5 to 8 p.m.; Tuesday mornings, April 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; or anytime during library hours from April 30 to May 4.
Bring donations, boxed or bagged, to the library’s meeting room door (garden entrance at 3500 Midvale Ave.), and a volunteer will be there to accept them.
The Spring Sale will be held Saturday, May 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with books priced at $10 a bag.
Plants and baked goods will also be sold.
Members of the Friends of the Falls of Schuylkill Library will be invited to the First Look preview sale Wednesday, May 2, at 1 p.m., where items are $2 each.
A public preview will be held the evening of May 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with books priced at $1 each. All are invited.
This popular event is one of the library’s major fundraisers. Proceeds are used to purchase new materials and fund building improvements.
Those who are not members can join the Friends for $10 a year at eastfallslibraryfriends.org/join-us.
