Brandon Boston Jr., Jason Preston and 2022 draft pick Moussa Diabaté will headline the Clippers’ squad for five games in Las Vegas at NBA 2K23 Summer League 2022, happening between July 7-17.

Shaun Fein, the Clippers’ lead player development coach, will coach the team, which also will include freeagent guards Xavier Moon and Jay Scrubb, who held the Clippers’ two two-way contracts when last season ended.

Diabaté — the rookie from Michigan who the Clippers drafted No. 43 overall last week — is slated to get one of the Clippers’ two-way deals this season, leaving L.A. with just one more (in addition to one regular roster spot).

Boston and Preston, who both are on the Clippers’ NBA roster, played Summer League together as rookies last season. Boston led that contingent with 13 points per game and Preston led them in assists, averaging 4.8.

But Preston suffered a foot injury just before the start of training camp and wound up missing all of what would have been his rookie NBA season. Although

he didn’t get to contribute on the court, he bulked up, learned plenty and impressed his more veteran teammates.

“It’s been having another coach,” starting point guard Reggie Jackson said in March. “Smart kid, super smart. Highly intelligent. Somebody to talk to, bounce ideas off of. Him telling me what he sees, trying to help him as well ... Like, the kid’s so cerebral, so smart.

“So it’s always fun, just like I said, talking to him before a game. When I come out of games, whether it be huddles, getting to talk to him at halftime. I’m just waiting for the world to get to see Jason Preston.”

The world got a few good looks at Boston, the Chatsworth Sierra Canyon

School graduate who split his time between the organization’s G League Agua Caliente team and the bigleague L.A. Clippers.

He notched memorable performances for both teams, including a 46-point G League outing against the Salt Lake City Stars, which he followed up with his Nba-high 27 points in a victory against Boston.

The rest of the roster: Justin Bean, a forward from Utah State; Jarrell Brantley, a forward from the College of Charleston who played 37 games for the Utah Jazz between 2019-21; Isiah Brown, a guard from Weber State; Michael Devoe, a guard from Georgia Tech; and Trey Mcgowens, a guard from Nebraska.

Also on the squad: Reggie Perry, a guard who the Clippers drafted 57th overall out of Mississippi State in 2020; Cam Reynolds, a wing from Tulane whose previous NBA experience includes stints with Minnesota, San Antonio and Houston; Keaton Wallace, a guard who played last season for Agua Caliente; and Lucas Williamson, a guard from Loyola Chicago.

The Clippers’ first Summer League game will be July 9 against the Memphis Grizzlies at Cox Pavilion. It’s scheduled to air on NBA TV.
