Group offers landscape makeover as raffle prize
Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful will award $15,000 in landscaping design and work to the Riverside homeowner who wins its Waterwise Landscape Makeover raffle.
The drawing will be held Aug. 2 at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, 3985 University Ave.
Raffle tickets are $20 each, five for $50, 10 for $75 and 15 for $100 and are available at the chambers (951-683-7100, ext. 204); at bit.ly/krcbwlmtickets; and at Louie’s Nursery, 16310 Porter Ave., Riverside (951-780-7841).
The winner does not need to be present at the drawing but must be a homeowner in Riverside.
Proceeds from the raffle will help provide tools and supplies for monthly beautification projects that help teach young people to care for the appearance of their community through volunteering at Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful cleanup events, according to a news release.
Design team and project managers include Earthworks Soil Amendments; Envision Landscape; Western Municipal Water District; Ken Crowl; A-G Sod Farms, Burrtec Waste Industries; Custom Service Systems; Louie’s Nursery; Octo Green Landscaping; Paradise Garden Center; RCB Sons, Landscape Architect & Contractor; Toro; Vista Wholesale Nursery; and 2009 winners Patty and Mike Blakely.
Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful is a community volunteer program sponsored by the Riverside Public Works Department and Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce.
The program does litter and graffiti eradication; cleans city waterways, trails, streets and alleys; and provides more green space in the community.
