Cher Ofstedahl, chief executive officer of Trinity Youth Services, a Claremontbased foster-care and adoption agency, was one of the 2022 Women of Distinction for the 41st Assembly District, recognized this spring by Assembly Member Chris Holden.

Ofstedahl, who is also chief executive officer of Claremont-based Children’s Foundation of America, received the award at the Children’s Foundation of America’s first Chari-tea fundraiser, held May 21 in Claremont.

The event, sponsored by Claremont Lincoln University, raised funds for scholarships, transitional living and specific needs of local foster youth. At the Charitea, Children’s Foundation of America presented donations to Purposely Chosen Inc., A Greater Hope Foundation and Mckinley Children’s Center, according to a news release.

Children’s Foundation of America, a nonprofit organization, helps children who are affected by abuse, neglect or abandonment, and Trinity Youth Services serves children and families in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

“The board of directors of Trinity Youth Services is pleased and proud to have our CEO, Cher Ofstedahl, selected as the Woman of Distinction from Claremont,” John Neiuber, president of Trinity Youth Services’ board, said in the news release.

“She is creative, solution oriented, dedicated and selfless. She is a natural leader who cares deeply for the children the agency serves,” Neiuber said.

“All of us at Claremont Lincoln University congratulate alumna Cher Ofstedahl on her award as Assembly Member Chris Holden’s 2022 Woman of Distinction. We are delighted to see Cher receive this award to celebrate and honor her significant leadership impact on women, children and families,” Lynn Priddy, president of Claremont Lincoln University, said in the news release.
