School district offers free immunizations, sports physicals

The San Bernardino City Unified School District is offering a series of free student immunization clinics through Sept. 9 and free sports physicals for the district’s student athletes Aug. 5.

The immunization clinics are available to all enrolled students with Medi-cal and those without insurance.

The immunization clinics will be staffed by health-care professionals and medical staff from San Bernardino County and the SAC Health System, according to a news release.

Following are the San Bernardino County immunization clinics, each with an online appointment link.

• Today: noon-4 p.m. at Serrano Middle School, 3131 Piedmont Drive. Appointments: bit.ly/43qrcai

• Monday: 3-6 p.m. at Arrowview Middle School, 2299 N. G St. Appointments: bit. ly/3xjxjlo

• Aug. 11: 3-6 p.m. at Curtis Middle School, 1050 N. Del Rosa Drive. Appointments: bit. ly/3phvjlu

The following SAC Health Systems clinics will all run 8 a.m.-noon. For appointments, contact a school nurse or school health aide. July 31 at the Board of Education building, 777 N. F St.; Aug. 5 at Indian Springs High School, 650 N. Del Rosa Drive; Aug. 12 at Chavez Middle School, 6650 N. Magnolia Ave.; Aug. 26 at Arroyo Valley High School, 1881 W. Base Line St.; and Sept. 9 at Rodriguez PREP Academy, 1985 N. Guthrie St.

Parents and guardians should bring the student’s immunization record and photo identification for the parent or guardian.

The school district is partnering with UCR School of Medicine and Well-one Health to offer free sports physicals 8-11 a.m. Aug. 5 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in San Bernardino.

Families can book an appointment at tinyurl.com/sbfcphysicals. No insurance or legal documentation is required, according to a news release.

All middle and high school students in the San Bernardino City Unified School District who try out for a school sport must have had a sports physical within the past year.
