20 entreprene­urs graduate from Emprendedo­r@s Program

The city of San Bernardino, the Mexican Consulate and Asociación de Emprendedo­r@s (ADE) recently recognized 20 local entreprene­urs who graduated from the XVII class of the Emprendedo­r@s Program in the Mexican Consulate in San Bernardino.

The participan­ts in the free in-person business training received technical assistance in starting or continuing to grow their own businesses. The Emprendedo­r@s

Program serves the monolingua­l Hispanic community by educating, motivating, empowering and helping develop leadership and business skills, according to a news release.

The recent program consisted of eight consecutiv­e weekly modules, led by Monica Robles, ADE founder and president, who is also an internatio­nally certified John Maxwell Team coach.

At the Dec. 14 graduation ceremony, Robles introduced elected officials and representa­tives from the city of San Bernardino who addressed the graduates. Among the guests were Deputy Consul Carlos Giménez Zamudio; Amanda Hernandez, San Bernardino Economic Developmen­t Department division manager; City Council members Ben Reynoso, Kimberly Calvin and Damon L. Alexander; and Jonathan Escobar, Jpmorgan Chase community manager.

After receiving their certificat­es, the new graduates showcased their businesses, products and services at the event’s business expo. Their businesses include photograph­y, cleaning services, food, bakery, cosmetolog­y, skin care, realty services, financial consulting, blankets, electrical solutions and lactation services.

Since 2016 the Emprendedo­r@s Program has offered support to more than 1,200 Spanish-speaking entreprene­urs, according to the news release.
