Great White, Slaughter

When it comes to glam metal in the ’80s, these bands earned plenty of fanfare, thanks to their heavy riffs and MTV airplay. Great White has undergone some lineup changes, including hiring a 26-year-old fan from Alabama, Brett Carlisle, as its singer. While Great White is from Los Angeles, the center of the glam scene, Slaughter came out of Las Vegas before moving to L.A. The band’s first record, “Stick It to Ya,” went gold after a single live performance and got the band an opening slot for rock giant Kiss.
