Brink leads No. 4-ranked Stanford women past No. 7 UCLA

Cameron Brink had 19 points, 19 rebounds and seven blocked shots, and host No. 4 Stanford beat No. 7 UCLA 80-60 on Sunday.

Kiki Iriafen scored 18 points as the Cardinal (203, 9-2 Pac-12) bounced back nicely after losing 67-58 to Juju Watkins and USC on Friday night.

Brink and Iriafen combined to shoot 16 for 26 and helped Stanford to a 44-28 rebounding advantage.

Charisma Osborne scored 13 points for the Bruins (174, 6-4), still missing second-leading scorer Lauren Betts because of undisclose­d medical reasons. The 6-foot-7 center, who transferre­d from Stanford after last season and is averaging 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds, was sidelined for a fourth straight game.

Osborne followed her 32-point performanc­e in Friday’s 78-58 win against California in Berkeley by shooting just 5 for 18.

Stanford wanted to move forward from its first home loss, when it was unable to stop Watkins as the freshman poured in a Trojans-record 51 points.

NO. 15 USC 79, CALIFORNIA 69 >> Watkins scored 29 points to lead the Trojans to the road win.

Watkins added five assists, four rebounds and four steals for the Trojans (16-4, 6-4 Pac-12).

Mckenzie Forbes totaled 12 points, five rebounds and five assists for USC.

Joanna Krimili hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 to lead the Golden Bears (1310, 3-8). Marta Suarez contribute­d 18 points and nine rebounds.

Krimili hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 to help California jump out to a 26-15 lead after one quarter.

Watkins sank 5 of 9 shots with two 3-pointers, scoring 14 points in the second quarter to get USC within 39-37 at halftime.

Cal opened the third by pushing its lead to seven. Kayla Padilla answered with a 3-pointer and capped a 10-2 run with another one as USC moved in front 4746 with six minutes left. But the Bears took a 61-58 lead into the final period.

Kaitlyn Davis made a layup and two free throws and Rayah Marshall and Watkins had layups in an 8-0 run to begin the fourth and USC never trailed again. NO. 3 IOWA 93, MARYLAND 85 >> Caitlin Clark had 38

points, 12 assists and six rebounds, and the visiting Hawkeyes (21-2, 10-1 Big Ten) outlasted the Terrapins on Saturday.

Clark now needs 66 points to pass Kelsey Plum atop the NCAA career scoring list for women’s basketball. Clark has 3,462 points. CALIFORNIA BAPTIST 86, SEATTLE 77 >> Chloe Webb had 33 points and 10 rebounds as the Lancers won on the road. Filipa Barros added 21 points, nine rebounds and

five assists for CBU (17-2, 9-1) in its fourth win in a row. UC RIVERSIDE 70, CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE 46 >> Matehya Bryant had 20 points, six rebounds and six assists, Ryanne Walters had 11 points, six rebounds and six assists and the host Highlander­s (11-10,6-5) swept the season series with the Matadors.

Men

NO. 2 PURDUE 75, NO. 6 WISCONSIN 69 >> Lance Jones scored 20 points, Zach Edey joined another exclusive club and the visiting Boilermake­rs posted their seventh consecutiv­e victory on Sunday afternoon.

Purdue (21-2, 10-2) extended its Big Ten lead to 1½ games as Wisconsin (16-6, 8-3) lost its second straight.

Edey had 18 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots. The 7-foot-4 center has 201 career blocks, joining Patrick Ewing and David Robinson as the only players in NCAA history to combine 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 200 blocks while shooting at least 60% from the field.

NO. 3 NORTH CAROLINA 93, NO. 7 DUKE 84 >> Armando Bacot had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Harrison had 21 points, 13 rebounds and four steals as the host Tar Heels (18-4, 10-1 ACC) won on Saturday night.

Freshman Jared Mccain (Centennial High) had 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead Duke (16-5, 7-3).

NO. 5 TENNESSEE 103, NO. 10 KENTUCKY 92 >> Josiah-jordan James and Zakai Zeigler each scored 26 points as the Volunteers (16-5, 6-2) won on the road.

Rob Dillingham had 35 points with six 3-pointers for the Wildcats (15-5, 5-4).

NO. 18 BAYLOR 70, NO. 12 IOWA

STATE 68 >> Jayden Nunn made the go-ahead layup with 2 seconds remaining and the host Bears hung on for the victory when Milan Momcilovic’s banked-in 3-pointer for the Cyclones was ruled to be shot after the final buzzer.

CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE 76, UC RIVERSIDE 70>> De’sean Allen-eikens had 26 points and nine rebounds as the host Matadors (14-9, 5-6 Big West) snapped a five-game losing streak and avenged a previous loss to the Highlander­s.

Barrington Hargress led UCR (8-15, 3-8) with 20 points and five assists. Isaiah Moses added 17 points and Kyle Owens had 13 points and 12 rebounds. SEATTLE 61, CALIFORNIA BAPTIST 60 >> Cameron Tyson had 18 points and five rebounds, and Kobe Williamson converted a threepoint play with seven seconds left as the Redhawks (13-9, 6-5) won the Western Athletic Conference game, snapping the host Lancers’ five-game winning streak.

Dominique Daniels Jr. scored 26 points for CBU (13-8, 6-4), Brantly Stevenson added 10 points and Hunter Goodrick had eight points, 16 rebounds and five assists.
