-

Auditions for the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival’s production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins” will be held March 9 and 16 at Mission Gables, 168 Eureka St., Redlands, behind the Redlands Bowl.

Wayne R. Scott, president of Redlands’ Lifehouse Theater, is producer and director of the summer production.

Auditions on March 9, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be for principal and choral roles. The March 16 auditions, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., are for those who are called back and those unable to audition March 9.

Auditions will be held by appointment. To make an appointment, go to lifehousetheater.com/redlands-bowl-auditions/.

Those interested in backstage and technical staff work on the production are encouraged to attend the auditions.

Those auditioning should be prepared to sing 16 measures of any Broadway musical-style song, preferably from Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins.” They may also be asked to interpretively recite the lyrics of their song or to read excerpts from scripted scenes and may be asked to perform a dance routine to be taught at the auditions, according to a news release.

The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival’s production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins” is scheduled to be performed with an orchestra at 8 p.m. July 23 (public dress rehearsal) and July 25-28.

Those who are cast in the production are required to attend an orientation meeting the evening of April 25, and rehearsals are scheduled to begin the first week of May. The cast will rehearse at the Redlands Bowl as often as possible.
