Basketball and soccer title game schedules set
The CIF Southern Section on Monday morning released the schedule for its basketball and soccer championships.
Eight Inland basketball teams (three boys, five girls) and six Inland soccer teams (three boys, three girls) will compete for section championships at various Southern California venues Friday and Saturday.
California Baptist University’s Fowler Events Center is the site for the section’s Open Division basketball championship games Friday night. Etiwanda will square off against Sierra Canyon for the girls championship at 6 p.m., and Roosevelt and Harvard-westlake will battle for the boys championship at 8 p.m.
Long Beach City College’s Veterans Stadium will be hosting the section’s Open Division soccer title matches Friday night. Santiago will take on Santa Margarita for the girls championship at 4:30 p.m., and Arlington squares off against Mater Dei for the boys championship at 7 p.m.
The Moreno Valley girls basketball team will face off against St. Anthony in the Division 2AA championship game Friday at 6 p.m., at Azusa Pacific University.
Three Inland basketball teams will journey to the Toyota Arena in Ontario for championship games Saturday.
The Rancho Cucamonga girls team takes on Anaheim Canyon in the Division 4AA final at 10 a.m., and the Temecula Valley boys team faces Northview for the Division 4A championship at 4 p.m. And the Santiago girls team squares off against Brentwood in the Division 1 title game at 6 p.m.
Colony High will host multiple basketball championships Saturday, as well. The Colton girls team takes on Adelanto for the Division 5AA title at noon, and the Big Bear boys team will face Firebaugh for the Division 5A title at 2 p.m.
Four more Inland soccer teams will be competing for section championships Saturday.
Veterans Stadium is the site for three of those matches. Diamond Ranch faces Bell Gardens for the Division 6 girls title at 1 p.m. Etiwanda squares off against Lakewood for the Division 4 boys championship at 3:30 p.m. Roosevelt will take on Palos Verdes for the Division 1 girls title at 6 p.m.
The Upland boys soccer team will face Esperanza for the Division 5 title at 3:30 p.m. at Fred Kelley Stadium in Orange.
