Fundraiser: The Uplanders Club Charitable Organizati­on holds its Wings of Hope Gala 5-9 p.m. March 23 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Claremont. Cocktail attire is suggested. The event is a fundraiser for Megan’s Wings, which provides assistance to Inland Empire and Pomona Valley families dealing with childhood cancer. Tickets are $100, and RSVP is required by March 10. Farmers’ markets: The city of Fontana, in conjunctio­n with the Family Market Company, offers a farmers’ market 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays in the aquatics center parking lot at Fontana Park, 15556 Summit Ave.; and 2-7 p.m. Thursdays in the Don Day Neighborho­od Center parking lot at Southridge Park, 14501 Live Oak Ave.

Concert: The University of La Verne music department presents “Spirit of Ireland,” a concert of Irish traditiona­l and contempora­ry music with Irish dancers, 6 p.m. at the Ann and Steve Morgan Auditorium, 1950 Third St., La Verne. The concert is part of the Sundays at the Morgan Concert Series. Suggested donation is $20. Admission s free for students with ID.

Historical Society: Steven Hackel will give a presentati­on on the lives of indigenous people in California during the time of Spanish colonizati­on when the La Verne Historical Society meets 7p.m. at the Hillcrest Meeting House, 2705 Mountain View Ave., La Verne. The Historical Society also plans a May 17trip to Mission San Gabriel. Hackel’s presentati­on is free; there is a fee for the May 17 trip.
