Dealership donates nearly 300 coats for children
DCH Subaru of Riverside recently joined forces with Operation Warm and the Salvation Army Riverside Corps to donate more than 280 new coats during an event for local children.
Volunteers at the Feb. 22 event helped fit children for the new clothing items.
DCH Subaru of Riverside made the clothing donation as part of Subaru Loves to Help, a national initiative of Subaru of America Inc. that helps children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgentneed situations.
“We know there are many children in our area experiencing homelessness or other urgent-need situations, so it is important that we lend a helping hand to our community,” Thomas Edwards, general manager of DCH Subaru of Riverside, said in a news release. “The Subaru Loves to Help initiative is one of the many ways DCH Subaru of Riverside gives
back throughout the year, and we’re grateful to partner with Salvation Army Riverside Corps and Operation Warm to provide meaningful warmth and comfort to those who need it most.”
It’s the first year that DCH Subaru of Riverside has partnered with the Salvation Army Riverside Corps and Operation Warm, according to the news release. It is part of the dealership’s community support program, Subaru Love Promise, that includes local partnerships with the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, Inland Empire Ronald Mcdonald House, Villa Health Care Center and Meals on Wheels.
Through this new partnership with Operation Warm and other Subaru Loves to Help projects, Subaru and its retailers will help more than 750,000 children and adults in need by the end of this year’s campaign, according to the news release. This winter, DCH Subaru of Riverside is one of more than 630 Subaru retailers across the country providing clothing items.
