Banned books: The Ontario-uplandranc­ho branch of the American Associatio­n of University Women invites the public to a program featuring members of the Diversity, Our Narrative Action Club from Los Osos High School talking about their quest to read and discuss books on banned books lists in U.S. schools and libraries, 10-11a.m. in the Community Room at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 330 E. 16th St., Upland. Artist conversati­on: The Ontario Museum of History & Art hosts an artist conversati­on with Gerald Clarke, a visual artist, educator, tribal leader, cultural practition­er and enrolled citizen of the

Cahuilla Band of Indians, noon-1:30p.m. at the museum, 225S. Euclid Ave., Ontario. With guest curator Debra Scacco, Clarke, one of the artists whose work is in the museum’s “Conduit” exhibit, will discuss water rights, American Indian stereotype­s and the role water plays in indigenous culture.

Benefit concert: Bonita High School alumnus and Grammy Award-winning jazz composer Gordon Goodwin will perform with his Big Phat Band in a concert 7:30p.m. at the Bonita Center for the Arts, 822W. Covina Blvd., San Dimas.
