Banned books: The Ontario-uplandrancho branch of the American Association of University Women invites the public to a program featuring members of the Diversity, Our Narrative Action Club from Los Osos High School talking about their quest to read and discuss books on banned books lists in U.S. schools and libraries, 10-11a.m. in the Community Room at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 330 E. 16th St., Upland. Artist conversation: The Ontario Museum of History & Art hosts an artist conversation with Gerald Clarke, a visual artist, educator, tribal leader, cultural practitioner and enrolled citizen of the
Cahuilla Band of Indians, noon-1:30p.m. at the museum, 225S. Euclid Ave., Ontario. With guest curator Debra Scacco, Clarke, one of the artists whose work is in the museum’s “Conduit” exhibit, will discuss water rights, American Indian stereotypes and the role water plays in indigenous culture.
Benefit concert: Bonita High School alumnus and Grammy Award-winning jazz composer Gordon Goodwin will perform with his Big Phat Band in a concert 7:30p.m. at the Bonita Center for the Arts, 822W. Covina Blvd., San Dimas. The concert is a benefit for the San Dimas and La Verne Band Boosters, and Goodwin will also perform as a guest artist in a pre-concert performance of the All-district Jazz Ensemble at 7p.m. Tickets: bonitacenterforthearts.com Craft market: The Crafters Market, held in conjunction with the Pomona Valley Certified Farmers’ Market, runs 9a.m.-2p.m. Saturdays at 175W. Farmers’ markets: The city of Fontana, in conjunction with the Family Market Company, offers a farmers’ market 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays in the aquatics center parking lot at Fontana Park, 15556 Summit Ave.; and 2-7 p.m. Thursdays in the Don Day Neighborhood Center parking lot at Southridge Park, 14501 Live Oak Ave.
Tuesday Food distribution:
Food for Life Ministry offers food 4-6p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at its main warehouse, 4712 Cheyenne Way, Chino. It also offers food there 9a.m.-noon on the Saturdays when it is not holding food distributions elsewhere. Bring a form of identification (required) and $5(not required). www.
