36th annual Run Through the Vineyard scheduled April 27

The 36th annual Run Through the Vineyard, presented by the Temecula Sunrise Rotary Club, will be held April 27 at the Maurice Car’rie Vineyard and Winery in Temecula.

The event, which includes 2K, 5K and 10K courses, draws runners from all over Southern California and is limited to the first 800 entrants, according to a news release.

To register, go to raceroster. com/82405 or go to temeculasunriserotary.com and click on the Run Through the Vineyard link. Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. April 26 or when the race is sold out.

Race Day registration is 6-7 a.m. Participants may also pick up bibs and do pre-race-day registration between 4 and 6 p.m. April 26 at the Running Center in Temecula.

The 10K race will begin at 7:30 a.m., the 5K at 7:45 a.m., and the 2K at 8 a.m.

There will be awards for first, second and third place in each age group for the 5K and 10K races. All runners and walkers will receive a finisher medal and a T-shirt. Adults will receive a coupon for two-for-one wine tasting, to be used between 9:30 and 11 a.m. on race day.

Major sponsors for the event are Pechanga Resort Casino and Maurice Car’rie Winery.

The Temecula Sunrise Rotary Club will use proceeds from the event to benefit its community service projects, vocational and academic scholarships, third-grade literacy program at Vail and Temecula elementary schools, youth leadership camps, Chaparral High School Interact Service Club and other youth and community programs, according to the news release.

Temecula Sunrise Rotary Club holds a breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. each Tuesday at Journey’s End at Pechanga, the golf course restaurant. The club welcomes prospective members to attend the meetings.
